Homeless.

Today has just been a hard day. All I wanted to do was quit for most of it. Everything kept going wrong. First, I got in trouble at the school I was subbing at because I was parked in the staff lot. The guy thought I was a student. I had difficult spoiled rich kids in my class that didn’t care if I was talking or not. Then I got into an argument with matt about moving apartments (which I don’t want to do) because it will save us money. I got off the phone cuz I was getting cranky and I needed to eat. I order my food and go to pay and the credit card machine is broken. No food from there. Next, I go to pick up my prescription because as of tomorrow I no longer have health care so I wanted to get my pills for one more month. My insurance wont pay for it for 3 more days because I am trying to get it to soon after last months pills. Last, I go to the dealership to get my oil changed. Matt and I pre paid for all of them for the next 3 years. They claimed that we didn’t. I argued with the guy for a while and ended up in the finance office with the guy I bought my car from, they found it in the computer. I was there for 2 hours. That is where the bad stuff stops…. THEY WASHED MY CAR FOR ME! It was so dirty and now it is shiny. That fixed my day.

So other than my day, its been pretty rough for me. I have been so exhausted because I don’t really have anywhere to go. I just want to get back to NC so I can be with my husband with all of my stuff in my own apartment sleeping in my own bed. I cant wait to go back. Ive seriously felt homeless. Ive been living out of a duffle bag since April 27th Im ready for a home again.

Only 3 more days until Havasu! I can not wait. It’s the first trip that bre beth and I have gotten to go on in almost 2 years. I love Havasu. I really hope that every thing works out and we have a great time. We have a boat and a hotel and some other fun stuff that bre and I picked up at the dollar store. I wish I was leaving tomorrow.

ONE YEAR and 2 days

It’s been a year! I cant believe that we have been married for a year! It’s so weird to me because he has only been home for 6 months so it doesn’t feel like it. We also just moved into our very own place so it is the first time that we get to be just us. I finally don’t feel like a live in girlfriend. The last 6 months have been hard, with us having to live with 4 other guys and a few girlfriends. I cant wait for us to start this next part of our relationship. I know its going to be hard but I am super excited for it. I love him. And here are a few pictures...

Leaving NC...

Well, I am now on my journey home from my first week in NC. I am not sure how much I like it. I do love my apartment minus  the people that stop around upstairs. Its so cute and big! In California we would have pained probably twice what we are paying now. I really should have taken pictures, but I didn’t L It’s beautiful here. There are so many trees and there is even a river about a half mile down from us where people go fishing. Its called Neuse River. From what I have heard from the people sitting behind me right now, the weather has been really bad and it is going to be worse the next few weeks, poor Matt. The weather here is so weird, nothing like California. It’s been constantly raining on and off. And when it is raining its hard rain. We had a thunder and lightning storm last night. It was so neat. The one thing I really don’t like is that there are spiders! They are EVERYWHERE! Last night matt found the most amazing spider web in our front door so he knocked it down. It was back this morning and the spider was in it. We killed it. I also have had a horrible headache since I got here. I am hoping that they will go away after a while but they haven’t been fun. Every time I stand up my head feels like it is going to explode. I really do just hope that it is the change in climate and I get used to it quickly when I get back.

Its so different over here. I am now the one with an accent. If I ever start talking like they do over here please yell at me. It drives me nuts. I know I will get used to it but right now whenever I hear anyone talk they all sound ignorant to me. I know they aren’t but all I can think of are like back woodsy hillbilly people with long stragley beards with large wives and skinny dirty children.

Oh, I always thought people in CA were impatient. On my first day here Matt and I went shopping to get a few things and we would be waiting in line to pay and someone behind us would walk up when we were being helped and complain that there weren’t enough checkers. These people had just gotten in line and waited for like 2 min. there were like 2 people in front of them. This happened twice in the same day. I was seriously shocked. Its like, really, what else do you need to do. There is nothing in NC.

Sitting across from me is a girl and here soon to be husband. They are going to Vegas to get married. They look so happy, they have their best friends and shes carrying her wedding dress. I cant help but to be a little bit jealous. I don’t know why, I just am. I am so ready to get on this plane and fly home. I cant wait to be back where there aren’t any bugs and I have friends.

The drive.

So we are finally here in NC. Ive been wanting to write about our trip for the last few day but i just haven't been feeling up to it. Well, i am up to it now. We left our house in San Diego on Tuesday the 28Th around noon we arrived in Raleigh 51 hours later. It was a long crazy drive.

We had planned on driving through the night on Tuesday but around 4 am we reach Albuquerque and we realized that we were gonna die if we didn't stop. We stayed at a ghetto little hotel. it was nice. A while ago i bought a road trip across the USA book. I am so glad i bought it. It had so many neat little things in it but our favorite part was the food part. It had all of these recommendations for good food. it was fun. The first place we stopped was in some random town in Arizona, we ate at the space age hotel and restaurant. they served Mexican food, i thought it was weird. So after we slept for like 5 hours, I did not sleep well on this trip (usually i get in the car and i pass out within 20 min and that never happened on the trip, i was exhausted), we drove to Texas. I was so excited to go to the Cadillac Ranch, I hadn't been there since i was little and it was so neat. I wish i would have taken pictures with my digital camera but i only took them with film... I'm a dummy. We then went on to a little BBQ restaurant where i ate Texas Toast in Texas. Then i got hit on by some cowboys at the gas station. Then i saw lots of cows. it was everything i ever thought it would be. I know that after Texas i drove some but I really don't remember much of it. There was just so much driving and so many hills and trees and nothing. So because Matt and I stopped the first night we decided that we were gonna power on through the next night. I was trying to sleep in the tiny car that night and it wasn't going so well. I remember opening my eyes somewhere in Arkansas and it was pouring rain and Matt was driving like 40 mph. It was terrifying. I have never seen rain like that for such a long period of time. it went on for at least an hour but probably longer than that. We finally got out of the rain and i fell asleep for like 45 min and then it was my turn to drive. We made it through the night. It was hard but i am so glad we didn't stop. We were about 60 miles outside of Raleigh when we hit our first bit of traffic. It was not fun at all. We were so close to home and we were at a dead stop. I seriously thought i was going to go crazy. But we finally got past it and we made it. It was a 40 hour drive and we did it in 51 hours. I do not recommend this for anyone to do ever.

We are both well and safe here. I haven't really had a chance to do much because i don't have a car but i will soon. I am so nervous about living this far away for everyone i know. I already miss California like crazy.

It's hard.

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God.” Isaiah 43:2-3

I found this verse today. I need to trust him with all I am right now. Its so much harder than I ever imagined.

Toilets!

Its the night before we leave! I can not wait to get out of this house. We have had constant plumbing problems since before I moved in here. When I first got here there was a leak that dripped into Kevin's room and it never stopped. It was so annoying. Then last fall when I moved in here alone the toilets went haywire and never stopped running. I also found out the freezer outside was leaking so our garage was flooded. I had my parents come out and bring me some stuff and also take a look at the place. My dad helped the problems out some. They have returned! The freezer kept leaking and we have had to defrost it twice, it turned into a solid block of ice. It was hours of chipping away and dumping hot water on it. I am scared to look at it before we leave because I don't want to feel like I need to fix it. The toilets have also started to constantly run AGAIN! Our back yard flooded a week ago. I had no idea until a plumber came over. The got a call from our back neighbor. That just shows how much I even look in the back yard. And TONIGHT! Matt and I were watching Heroes and I had just started our last load of laundry when I hear a loud noise and then I hear leaking water. I try and tell Matt but he is so into the show that I actually had to pause it (thank you DVR) before he heard me. We started looking around the house. the garage, nothing. the kitchen, nothing. The upstair bathroom, mean pool! the pipe broke or something and our bathroom was flooding. I am so glad that we were here tonight. There isn't anyone else home and if it happened anytime in the next week there probably wouldn't have been anyone here to even notice. I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE TOMORROW!
